I’ve always loved Rick Mercer and his TV show, The Mercer Report. What about you??
For over 15 years, he has been Canada’s Comedy Commentator. He can be touching. He can be hilarious. He can be thoughtful. He can be angry. He is ALWAYS entertaining.
Recently I came across his “Rant” (a weekly highlight of his show) the week after Gord Downie passed on. I have to say that it was a TERRIFIC piece and the best I think I’ve seen him do. I smiled, I laughed and I had tears in eyes.
It’s storytelling at it’s best. In two minutes he takes the viewer through a full range of emotions. I suspect that ‘Gord’ stories will continue to blow us away as time goes on.
As Canadians we were fortunate Gord was born a Canadian and devoted to his country in so many ways. His legacy is huge.
Take less than 2 minutes to enjoy Rick’s words. Then go enjoy your favourite piece of “Hip” music.
