Christmas Day couldn’t come soon enough for a young rider named Chloe. She wanted to hold that cherished portrait album in her hands ….. at last!
One day, nearly 3 months earlier she and her 2014 competitive jumper horse named Paradigm (nicknamed Peanut) had an amazing portrait session with us. The photo shoot was designed to celebrate the amazing bond and team work of horse and rider during the past show season.
Unsettling weather was a concern for the entire day before the appointment time of 4:00 pm. While they were giving Peanut her beauty spa treatment the winds got stronger and the sky darker. Then when Chloe popped home for her own beauty treatment the power went out while her long hair was still wet. The bad weather was moving in FAST!!
The problem was that Peanut was returning to her owner the next day – so it was NOW or never for this very important photo shoot. We all met at Westar Farms and started to work. Both Chloe and Peanut looked fabulous! If the rain held off we had just over an hour to create some magical photographs.
With an eye on the weather as well as Chloe & Peanut, we choreographed the entire photo session in key locations around the farm. We apparently received a blessing from the universe because just as we took the last shot – the rain started. By the time we got back to the stable from the jumper ring where we had been shooting, the rain was pouring down.
A couple of weeks later Chloe, her mother and grandmother arrived at the studio for their viewing session. They were thrilled with the results. We had a lot of fun picking out the “favourite” photos. Her Mom and Grandmother ordered an amazing array of photographs as wall portraits and a beautiful ‘celebration collection’ album that her grandmother would gift to Chloe at Christmas.
Now, we can unveil this stunning portrait album to you. It couldn’t happen any sooner because it was a definite ‘secret’ for Chloe on Christmas Day. Favourite horsey quotations as well as a personal grandmother message have all been included into this wonderful keepsake. For the rest of her life, every time Chloe holds and looks at this album – cherished memories of Peanut, the season of 2014 and her loving family will surround her with joy.
We do a limited number of these portrait sessions during the year.
