We wear many hats working with our clients!

Cool things happen when we stand in line at our favourite Coutts Coffee Shop in Perth.  YUP – one day last summer we realized that the woman in front of us was Barb Woods (Hanson). After being away from the area for many years, she had returned and recently purchased Ground Waves Home Decor and Gift Shop in town.

Reconnecting with her that day started things rolling as we helped Barb and Bobbi Fornwald, the store manager prepare for making a ‘big wave’ (as opposed to a big splash) for their first Christmas season as the new owners. Here’s a mini tour of what we created for them and some ‘behind the scenes’ on how it was done.

Step # 1 was a portrait session of their ‘poster boy’ – Mason (Barb’s grandson and Bobbi’s son). The goal was to capture a rustic look with Mason, his tractor and even a toy chainsaw.  “Lanark County Chic” might be the fashion term.

Take a quick peek (click on the video below) at some of the fun shots we got during the session. Then make sure you come back to see what happens next……

After choosing Mason’s ‘best ever’ image from the shoot, we put our graphic design hats on to work incorporating the store logo and a background image to capture the flavour of Lanark County. Watch the series of images below and you’ll see how we put it together for large posters that adorned the Ground Waves windows and store display. Stay tuned – there’s even more cool stuff as you scroll down this blog……

Barb and Bobbi also decided to WOW their customers by sending them a special Christmas Celebration promotion greeting card in the mail. They chose the awesome SendOutCards system to ‘get it done’. The card design, printing, stuffing, stamping and mailing of 400 cards only took 30 minutes!! What a timesaver, what a quality piece and what great feedback from their clients. Take a look at the card below. It was a huge success!!  Keep scrolling to see even more cool stuff…

With the Ground Waves store is all dressed up in Christmas finery – it is quite the sight to behold. Barb asked us to ‘do our thing’ and take photographs of the store that she could use for her website and Facebook page. Using his camera lens, Roger had lots of fun Christmas shopping throughout the store. Here’s a little video we put together for them to use on social media as well as their website. Go ahead and feel all ‘Christmasy’ again by clicking on the video image below to see the shop in all it’s splendor.
