Turn your Christmas ‘Inside Out’

What’s your favourite Christmas movie?

I have several on my list – BUT this year I’m going to turn things UPSIDE DOWN by watching  “INSIDE OUT” all over again.  I recommend that you do it too!

I adored this movie when I saw it this past summer. Christmas seems the perfect time to watch it again.  It will be a classic and it’s perfect for every age group.  You don’t have to believe me – just do the ‘google’ on movie reviews for it and you will see the glowing reports.

Here’s a quick quote from the Rotten Tomatoes website:

Critics Consensus: Inventive, gorgeously animated, and powerfully moving, Inside Out is another outstanding addition to the Pixar library of modern animated classics.”

I recently heard an interview on CBC radio with Dr. Meredith Gillespie. She is using the movie and it’s characters to help children and their parents deal with the subject of emotions.  Dr. Gillespie works with children at Boomerang Health, a clinic that’s affiliated with Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children.

It’s a fascinating conversation to hear and there’s even a short video clip with Dr. Gillespie explaining how she uses the movie’s characters to help teach children and families about emotions.   Just click on the video image below and check out this cool information.

  1. Saw this movie as an inflight movie on a long boring flight oversea. It was a pleasant surprise, so refreshing yet so deep. I watched it a second time. I did say it was a long boring flight, didn’t I.

    1. Indeed it would have been a great surprise to discover the treat of “Inside Out” in your situation of a long boring overseas flight. You are so right about how refreshing and yet deep it is. On one level a terrific adventure style story and yet so insightful and beautifully crafted for the screen. I am glad that my first viewing was on a large screen in a movie theatre. That being said – I’ve asked for the DVD as a Christmas gift and look forward to an at home viewing, whenever I want.
