Here’s a “Blast from the Past”
Brooke Henderson is currently tearing up the golf world with her stellar play on the LPGA.
In case you have been living under a rock somewhere, Brooke (and her sister/caddie Brittany) are from right here in Smiths Falls and learned their early golf skills at the Smiths Falls Golf & Country Club.
Brooke is now ranked 2nd in the world and will be representing Canada in next months Olympics too.
I dug through our archives and found this picture of Brooke when she won the Ladies Club Championship at the SFG&CC in 2009 at the ripe old age of 11.
I don’t know if it was every confirmed, but at the time she was thought to be the youngest ever Club Champion in Canada.
I have photographed Brooke and Brittany many times. The last time was in 2014 for their plaques in the Smiths Falls Sports and Recreation Hall of Fame. They are wonderful to work with, great to talk to and genuine ambassadors for Smiths Falls.
Heck, I even photographed their parents’ wedding way back when.
Keep up the great work Brooke and Brittany. We’re all cheering you on!
One of the perks of our business is that I get to meet and work with some great people, usually at happy or memorable times in their lives. Let’s face it, after 40 years, we have worked with A LOT of people, from babies to brides, tykes to tycoons, youngsters to centenarians, pets to politicians…you get the picture!

That might be difficult as we would have to get in touch with everyone to get permission to use the portraits in a newsletter. We actually showed the calendar to someone last week. He came into our downstairs office (nobody usually goes there) and saw our 16×20 hanging on the wall, so he needed to know the whole story.
That was a lot of fun doing the calendar with all of you brave folks.
