Frame It in the Camera

Whether you are photographing people or scenes – you can add tons of visual interest by using objects within the environment to help ‘frame’ your photo.

Here are a few suggestions:

• To add visual interest use an archway to frame your subject in the distance, beyond the archway.

• Branches of trees can make beautiful ‘frames’ for people or travel photos.  A big trailing willow tree is an obvious example – placing a person in an open space among the willow branches works beautifully for some environmental artistry.

• Even simple things like photographing someone seated in their car, looking out the side window (which acts as a ‘frame’)  can add a different artistic element.
