We got a ‘sneak preview’ on Sunday!

Lianne here – reliving our trip down memory lane, last Sunday.

Roger & I went “Back In Time” to the glorious Hollywood movie musicals of yesteryear.

Arts In Motion, the Perth School of Dance had their annual Photo Day yesterday and WE WERE THERE as the official school photographer. We love this group led by the amazing Svetlana Timtsenko.

We photographed over 200 dancers ranging from ‘little ones’ to ‘ballerinas’ during our ‘foot tapping’ journey. The swirling colours, fabulous costumes, eager faces and dedicated teachers make it a joy to work with this fun group of people.

Svetlana creates an original story every year for her recital.  It’s just like a miniature Broadway musical and is quite unique in the dance recital world.  In this year’s show titled “Back In Time” she is paying tribute to the Hollywood movie musicals of the 1930 -1950 era.  The show runs on May 24 and May 25th.

We guarantee it will be a fun evening.  Get your tickets NOW by calling the Perth Dance Studio 613-267-1900 or online at  www.ticketsplease.ca – phone – 613.485.6434

Leave a one word comment below (if you have more words – that’s OK too) to describe how you felt when had to …  BE in a dance recital, ATTEND a dance recital or HELP out at a dance recital.  It will be fun to hear all the comments.

  1. I had a short dance career — only one year, when I was seven — but the recitals were memorable, for different reasons. Due to a fever of 104, I was a no-show for the Christmas show (even though I pleaded with my mother to let me go, the fact that I couldn’t stand, let alone dance, decided things most definitely). However, I was healthy for the spring show, where my class performed tap-danced two numbers — “The Good Ship Lollipop” and “The Mexican Hat Dance.” I still have my little sombrero.

    1. I have no memorabilia of my dance recitals… except for my memory. There aren’t even any photographs. But I remember I looked very pretty in my red leotard with a white tutu. I have no recollection of the music we danced to – but I do remember feeling very special.
