Sharing My Shoe Passion

If you love shoes – then you must check out a great Canadian shoe company . I’ll bet that you’ve never heard of “Fluevogs”.   Am I right or are you a confirmed ‘Vogger”?  I must confess that I own eight pairs as well as a terrific Fluevog weekender tote.

Five years ago a friend of mine told me about Fluevog shoes. Being a ‘curious Georgette’ I immediately went online and  became a “FAN” – big time.  Take a look at the latest funky pair that I bought late last summer – I just love them and they are so comfy!!

Love this pair of Fluevogs with their unique hand painted leather accent

I thought it fitting to christen these shoes by wearing them to the National Art Gallery when we went to the Van Gogh exhibit.  Arty shoes deserve an arty environment.  Decided to get a bit arty with a few more Hipstamatic shots – funky shoes = funky fotos!

There’a lots of great info, delivered with a great sense of humour and a complete online catalog of their shoes.   The snippet below will give you an idea of their shoe philosophy….

‘Moses used tablets, Picasso used paints, God used Moses, Alex G Bell used the telephone and John Fluevog uses shoes. Great minds of the past have used a variety of mediums to communicate their messages – since the beginning of time (or at least John) John has been using the soles and foot socks of his shoes to communicate with the world.

John has always seen himself as more than a Canadian shoe designer: “I’m an armchair philosopher, and artist and a style monger, my shoes and messages are quite simply a part of me.” Make of them what you will  – love ‘em or leave ‘em, they’re just gonna keep on coming….’

I have only ever ordered online – and the customer service is amazing.  They do have stores located in Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City, Calgary and Vancouver.  There are also stores in the USA. Sign up for their newsletter and be prepared for some great sale shoes and fun updates on current shoe designs.  Let me know if and when you become a ‘Vogger’ – we could organize a local ‘Vog’ chapter for meet and greets!
