We hear this from Moms all the time.
“I’d love one of your beautiful family portraits but I can never get everyone together at the same time”.
Last year we helped someone solve this problem.
A Mom was meeting with us about her family portrait session. She told us her son’s family from Oakville were having trouble committing to a date. Life was too hectic, schedules were nuts! In fact, they couldn’t commit to even getting home soon.
We sent out an “SOS” to one of our professional photographer contacts in Oakville. Andrea, owner of As It Happens Photography was pleased to work with us. (It’s a real bonus to have a BIG network of photographer colleagues from Roger’s days of being the President of the Professional Photographers of Ontario.)
The ‘missing’ Oakville part of the family agreed to have their portrait done by Andrea. In the meantime, we had our portrait session with the rest of the family. We left lots of room to add “the missing ones’ at one end of the portrait.
We sent a proof image to Andrea with our notes about where they would end up.
She photographed them in an identical style, and gave Roger lots to work with.
Andrea sent her high res files to Roger for the final assembly. Firstly, he balanced the exposure and colour quality. Then he added each person individually to the final family portrait.
And there you have it – a HAPPY Mom with the whole family together. The portrait hangs in their living room to remind her every day of the wonderful family they raised.
