Recently a good friend called with a photographic problem. She’d had a “glamour shoot” done for part of her wedding day gift for her fiance.
Her photographer chum spent a few hours shooting her in all the stunning lingerie that her soon-to-be husband had given her since they met. How romantic is that!
For the ‘big finish’ image they went to the lake shore. She had decided to throw caution (and everything else) to the wind and get naked in the chilly surf.
When she saw the proofs she was thrilled – EXCEPT for the final shot (see above). The big shadow across her back, the harsh lighting and even her stubby fingers in her hair just weren’t what she wanted. And she was definitely NOT thrilled with the shape of her…well – you know!
She knew about Roger’s skill as a photo retoucher and called to see what he could do. Always up for a challenge, Roger studied and analysed his solution to the problems. Several hours later he and his trusty Monster Mac computer screen (great for dealing with pixel by pixel enhancement) had a winner for our friend.
She was absolutely thrilled with the beautifully enhanced image. Now her gift would be perfect for her fiance.

We gave her a couple of variations of the final look. One was a subdued colour reminiscent of old style colour photos. The other was a stronger “grunge” Black & White.
She chose the subdued colour look for the ‘big finish” in her wedding day gift book for her husband-to-be.
