Wanna see something really cool?
Something you have never seen before?
Over the span of 4 days the Smiths Falls Memorial Community Centre was converted from a hockey rink to a world-class curling venue. See it happen here in less than 4 minutes!

We installed a time lapse camera at the rink at 11:00 pm on Tuesday Jan 21 and recorded one photo every 20 seconds until 11:00 am on Sunday Jan 26.
The volunteer ice crew took over the rink at exactly 12:01 am Wednesday and you can see all the action in this video. We’ve edited out some time when nothing was happening (it’s not too exciting watching water freeze) to give you a pretty good idea of the skill and dedication it takes to bring an event like the Travelers Tankard – the Ontario Men’s Curling Championship to our town.
It was a group effort of the Ontario Curling Association icemakers, icemakers from many of the Ottawa Valley local curling clubs, and volunteers from our own club headed by Jim McVeety. Great job gentlemen!
Enjoy! Don’t forget to comment below and share this with your friends.
